Data Science for Non-Data Scientists In-Person
What kinds of research questions can data science answer? How can a researcher effectively communicate with a data scientist? This course is designed to introduce current or future researchers to the concept, techniques, and language of data science. The class will cover:
- Examples of how data science has been used in health care research
- What types of questions different data science techniques can answer
- How to interpret answers provided by data science and the limitations of those answers
This is a beginner level class, intended to introduce concepts to researchers, students, and clinicians interested in learning more about data science, but not interested in becoming data scientists themselves. Computers are not required, but laptops will be available in the classroom.
