Introduction to Literature Searching

Introduction to Literature Searching Online

Need to get started with a literature search? This class will touch on the basics of formulating good strategies for literature searches. We will review techniques for preliminary information discovery and developing structured search strategies using proper syntax and techniques to conduct searches, apply search filters, save results, and access full text articles through the NYU Health Sciences Library.

Time will be included to practice conducting searches in PubMed using your own research questions. For a more comprehensive introduction to PubMed, see https://hslguides.med.nyu.edu/introductiontopubmedguide.

This class is open to everyone but would be especially useful for students, research assistants, and interns who will be performing literature searches as part of a team project. If you would like to register multiple attendees, please contact caitlin.plovnick@nyulangone.org.
