Introduction to Git and GitHub Online

This workshop introduces the basic concepts of Git version control and uses the new NYU Langone Instance of GitHub to manage files on your work computer. Whether you're new to version control or just need an explanation of Git and GitHub, this tutorial will help you understand the concepts of distributed version control systems through step-by-step demostrations. This is a class for users who are comfortable with a command-line interface and for adventurous novices. 

Prerequisites:

Familiarity with, or comfort in trying, directory and file management in a command-line environment. Ability to write one- and two-line sample code in a text editor.
