Introduction to the Enterprise Data Catalog Online

Finding the right data can be challenging when information is spread across multiple systems. This introductory session provides an overview of the Enterprise Data Catalog and demonstrates how it serves as a central place to discover, understand, and navigate trusted enterprise data assets.

Participants will learn how to search for business terms, metrics, reports, datasets, and other data assets, understand available metadata and business context, and explore how the catalog supports better data discovery and data literacy across the organization.

This session introduces the current capabilities of the Enterprise Data Catalog and highlights how it will continue to evolve as additional content and features are added.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose and value of the Enterprise Data Catalog.

  • Search for and discover enterprise data assets using the catalog.

  • Navigate the catalog using search, browse, and filtering capabilities.

  • Understand the business context available for reports, metrics, datasets, and other catalog assets.
